Drilling of exploration wells is essential for value creation. With its solid infrastructure, the Norwegian continental shelf offers great opportunities for profitability even for small deposits. For themore venturous companies, there are frontier areas to be explored, especially in the Barents Sea.
But with the downturn in the industry, both the will and the ability to invest in exploration wells has fallen. Furthermore, the lack of major discoveries that can be developed after 2022 is alarming.
At PetroLive Exploration, Statoil, Lundin Norway, Aker BP, Faroe Petroleum and Wellesley Petroleum will talk about their upcoming exploration plans as well as share their experiences and success stories. At the same time, they will address both geological and business challenges.
In addition, the Norwegian Petroleum Directorate will provide a status update for exploration activity on the Norwegian continental shelf.
We also hear from selected suppliers who challenge established working methods and technology, thus helping to reduce risk and lower the cost of exploration drilling.
The central themes of the conference are:
- The exploration business model under pressure
- What´s next in the Barents Sea
- New technology and ways to work
- Buying discoveries or exploring for more?
- Value in near field discoveries
